Shanna K. Helmke
Shanna K. Helmke is a K–5 instructional coach and educator based in Iowa, with classroom experience teaching grades 3–5 and a focus on student engagement and innovative teaching strategies. She has been a dedicated educator since 2011 and currently serves as an instructional coach in the Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa. In addition to her work in K–12 schools, she is an adjunct professor at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Helmke is a coauthor of Classrooms in Motion: Using Learning Stations for High Student Engagement in Grades K–5 (A student-engaged framework to enhance learning), which presents a four-station framework—minilesson, independent work, collaboration, and digital content—to help elementary teachers implement highly engaging, station-based learning in their classrooms.
