Tia Brown McNair

Tia Brown McNair is a higher education leader and author focused on equity, student success, and institutional transformation. She serves as vice president for diversity, equity, and student success and executive director for the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in Washington, DC, where she oversees initiatives on equity, inclusive excellence, high-impact practices, and student success. She is the lead author of Becoming a Student-Ready College: A New Culture of Leadership for Student Success and coauthor of From Equity Talk to Equity Walk: Expanding Practitioner Knowledge for Racial Justice in Higher Education.

McNair directs AAC&U’s Summer Institutes on High-Impact Practices and Student Success and leads several national projects on racial healing and equity-focused educational reform. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and English from James Madison University, an M.A. in English from Radford University, and a doctorate in higher education administration from The George Washington University.
