Vincent Pompei

Vincent Pompei, Ed.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at San Diego State University and an education consultant focused on equitable school practices and inclusive environments for LGBTQ and gender-expansive students. He earned his doctorate in educational leadership from San Diego State University and has also held roles as National Director of the Well-Being Program for the Human Rights Campaign, Project Director for the Center for Excellence in School Counseling and Leadership, and a middle school teacher and high school counselor.

Pompei has been nationally recognized for his work on school safety, belonging, and inclusion, including writing the LGBTQ section of the ASCA National Model and serving as a national cadre trainer for the NEA. He is a coauthor of Belonging in School: Creating a Place Where Kids Want to Learn and Teachers Want to Stay—An Illustrated Playbook.
