Virginia Loh-Hagan
Virginia Loh-Hagan, EdD, is an educator, author, and literacy specialist whose work focuses on guiding students’ reading of informational texts and amplifying Asian American narratives. She coauthored 40 Strategies for Guiding Readers through Informational Texts with Barbara Moss, a standards-based resource offering practical activities to help K–12 students read and think critically about informational texts.
Loh-Hagan serves as Executive Director for AANAPISI Affairs and Director of the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Center at San Diego State University, where she has also directed the Liberal Studies program and led multiple teacher credential initiatives. A former K–8 classroom teacher and community college reading instructor, she has authored hundreds of children’s books and academic publications, frequently writing about Asian American heritage and inclusive K–12 curricula.
