William M. Ferriter

William M. Ferriter is a career classroom teacher who spent 29 years teaching in middle school classrooms in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in elementary education from the State University of New York at Geneseo, and has also been certified as a PLC at Work Associate and RTI at Work Associate by Solution Tree.

Ferriter has coauthored and contributed to numerous books on professional learning communities and instructional practice, including Building a Professional Learning Community at Work: A Guide to the First Year, Making Teamwork Meaningful, Creating a Culture of Feedback, The Big Book of Tools for Collaborative Teams in a PLC at Work, Personalizing Learning Through Voice and Choice, and Professional Learning Communities at Work and High Reliability Schools: Cultures of Continuous Learning. He has also published articles in Kappan, Journal for Staff Development, Educational Leadership, and Threshold Magazine.
