Rebecca DuFour
Rebecca Burnette DuFour was a U.S. educator, consultant, and author who worked in education for nearly four decades. According to her publisher’s obituary, she served as a public-school educator and administrator, including as principal of Boones Mill Elementary School in Franklin County, Virginia, where her school earned state and national recognition as a model professional learning community.
DuFour coauthored numerous books and articles on professional learning communities, including Learning by Doing: A Handbook for Professional Learning Communities at Work®, Revisiting Professional Learning Communities at Work®: Proven Insights for Sustained, Substantive School Improvement, and Concise Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Professional Learning Communities at Work(TM). She also received the Evelyn P. Bickham Outstanding Undergraduate Alumni Award from the University of Lynchburg and served on its board of trustees.
