Mike Mattos

Mike Mattos is an internationally recognized author, presenter, and practitioner who specializes in helping schools implement response to intervention (RTI) and professional learning communities (PLC/PLC at Work®) to improve student learning. He co‑created the RTI at Work™ model, which builds on the PLC at Work® process to develop systematic, multitiered systems of support that ensure high levels of learning for all students.

Over a 23‑year on‑site career as an educator, Mattos served as a history and social studies teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He is the former principal of Marjorie Veeh Elementary School and Pioneer Middle School in Tustin, California, where he helped create powerful professional learning communities and improved learning for all students; Marjorie Veeh earned recognition as a California Distinguished School and a National Title I Achieving School during his tenure.
